Debt Recovery
We help individuals and businesses recover outstanding debts, from reviewing documents and issuing demands to negotiating payment arrangements and pursuing recovery through the courts.
An unpaid debt calls for more than persistence. It calls for an informed decision.
Late payments can affect a company's cash flow or a family's financial stability. At Portugal Lawyers, we start by understanding how the debt arose, the documents supporting it and the steps already taken. This assessment helps us plan a proportionate response, considering the amount at stake and the client's objectives.
From a single debt to ongoing support
The service may cover a specific debt or a number of outstanding matters. For organisations with recurring needs, the organisation of work, reporting frequency and decision criteria are agreed according to the scope of instructions and the resources needed for each assignment.
An approach tailored to each debt.
We favour out-of-court solutions where appropriate, assessing the available documents, recovery prospects and costs before agreeing on the next steps.

Contracts or orders, invoices, evidence of delivery or services, due dates, payments already made and correspondence with the debtor. The documents required depend on the case and may be requested after the initial contact.
Are you owed money?
Send us a brief description of the debt and your contact details. We will assess the matter and the next steps.
Recovery depends on the circumstances of the case, the available evidence and the debtor's situation. The initial assessment and this service description do not guarantee recovery.
